We are currently open to the public for tours Monday through Friday 1pm-4pm and Planetarium shows Friday at 3:00pm.

Directions:
The Science Center is conveniently located ½ mile west of the Tyrone Square Mall at 7701 22nd Avenue North in St. Petersburg, Florida. Visitors coming from 1-4 and 1-275 can exit 1-275 at 22nd Avenue North and head west. Visitors coming from the south can cross the Skyway Bridge and get off 1-75 at 22nd Avenue North, then head west. Please refer to the map for detailed directions.

ONGOING EXHIBITS:
The Animal Room is home to small mammals, birds and reptiles. This one of a kind exhibit introduces visitors and students to unusual species like the bearded dragon from Australia and the ball python from Africa.
African American Scientists & Inventors Exhibit: Highlighting African American scientific achievers from slavery through the present, this exhibit focuses on contributions these scientists made to our everyday lives.
Alligators: "Sawgrass" and "Cypress", American Alligators, can be seen in their plexiglass habitat. They teach visitors and students how alligators live, eat and why we should respect them.
Planetarium: The Spirit of Columbia Theater & Planetarium features a state of the art Minolta MediaGlobe projector. This high powered machine transports children, adults and visitors to the outer realms of space and beyond. For show times or to arrange a class or private tour including a Planetarium Show, call the office.
Carol Samuels Observatory: The observatory features a powerful Meade 16-inch telescope. The St. Petersburg Astronomy Club, in cooperation with the Center, opens the observatory to the public throughout the year. See EVENTS for viewing schedules.
Marine Room: Featuring a 600 gallon Marine Touch Tank, the Margaret Ewell Dickins marine exhibit includes over ten species of marine life. Visitors and students also enjoy the displays representing Florida fish and shells and learn how they interact with humans.
Replica of 16th Century Native American Village: Step back in time and learn about 16th Century Florida natives. Long before the Seminoles, these early people lived, worked and socialized in this area. Visitors and students can visit replicas of a Temple Mound, a Shaman's Hut, a cooking site and more.
White Gardens and Mosaic Walk of The States: The White Gardens was the vision of Sarley M. White, Chairman of the Board of the former National Bank. It was originally located at the former bank site on Tyrone Boulevard and was moved to the Science Center in 1971.
The gardens include a Walk of States featuring mosaics depicting the bird, flower and shape of each state in the order of its admission into the union. Stones representing each state are also part of the display. The Walk of States was created by St. Petersburg artist Attillio Puglisi.
